Democrats and their media allies are quick to shout “listen to the experts!” on anything related to the COVID-19 pandemic, while continuing to push for lockdowns and other economy-killing solutions that will end up leaving a lasting and nasty scar on America.
Following their logic, there should no longer be any question about whether or not lockdowns are actually a viable method to control the Chinese virus, because one of America’s “experts” just spoke to that effect.
According to Newsmax, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Director Alex Azar dropped a bomb on the left’s lockdown fantasies, explaining that the recent surge in virus transmissions is not, in fact, coming from schools or businesses. Rather, it’s happening from other forms of person-to-person contact, like private gatherings.
“All of our measures have to be guided by evidence in science, not just assumptions,” Azar said, while adding that “Data tells us that our universities, our K-12 schools have not proven to be major vectors of disease transmission.”
Democrats, the “follow the science” party, should immediately embrace Azar’s expertise on the matter, but as we all well know — they won’t.
Azar reiterated that virus transmission is not happening in businesses at the scale that Democrats and the media have claimed, while laying out several reasons that prove his statement.
“(That is) because we have leadership at each institution working with CDC guidance putting good controls in place to ensure people wash hands, watch their distance, wear face coverings when they can,” Azar said.
Azar said that while transmission rates are increasing, in part, due to cold weather, which forces people to gather indoors, as long as people are responsible with social distancing and sanitizing at large gatherings — like Thanksgiving dinner — the virus’ spread can still be mitigated.
“That means when we have house gatherings we’ve got to be vigilant,” he said. “We advise people please exercise extra caution. You can get that from family members and neighbors.”
I think any reasonable American can agree that he offered a fair assessment of the situation. While some Democrat governors have taken extreme measures of banning gatherings over 10 people for the upcoming holidays, Azar warned that there are definitely increased risks when gathering in larger numbers, but if people just take a few extra steps, everything should be just fine.
That’s one of the key differences between the Trump administration — which still believes in and supports individual liberties — and the Democrats, who seem to be actively working to strip away any freedoms they possibly can, primarily because it grants them more power.
With great news on the horizon concerning an upcoming, expedited round of COVID-19 vaccines, this pandemic could soon be on its last leg, finally. In the meantime, it’s important that Americans fight to retain their freedom and liberty, as it’s their God-given right to do so.
