Democrats have tried for over four years to drum up literally any case against President Donald Trump that would undermine his presidency with the hopes of booting him out of office. After several attempts, the radical left still hasn’t managed to accomplish their ultimate fantasy.
But many Democrats have increased their calls for Joe Biden, should he become president, to open investigations into a post-White House Trump and his inner-circle, with some alleging that there’s a plethora of financial-related evidence to bring criminal cases against him.
According to the Daily Wire, it doesn’t appear as if that’s a priority or even a remote interest of Biden’s, as he’s reportedly told his closest insiders that he has no desire to gum up his presidency with investigations into his predecessor.
“President-elect Joe Biden has privately told advisers that he doesn’t want his presidency to be consumed by investigations of his predecessor, according to five people familiar with the discussions, despite pressure from some Democrats who want inquiries into President Donald Trump, his policies and members of his administration,” NBC News recently reported.
Furthermore, Biden apparently told these same sources that he realizes any investigations initiated by the White House into Trump, post-presidency, would have potentially disastrous effects on further dividing the country more than it already is, if that’s even possible.
“One adviser said Biden has made it clear that he ‘just wants to move on,’” the report added.
That being said, Biden may have a loophole in his agenda, as he also made clear to his people that he wouldn’t interfere with any investigations launched by the U.S. Department of Justice, where investigations are likely to sprout in a Biden presidency.
“His overarching view is that we need to move the country forward,” one of Biden’s advisers reportedly said. “But the most important thing on this is that he will not interfere with his Justice Department and not politicize his Justice Department.”
That kind of wording should have Trump supporters on high alert, as there are plenty of people expected to be in Biden’s cabinet who are still riddled with severe cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Not to mention the fact that a juicy Trump-related criminal investigation could pay dividends in the upcoming 2022 midterm elections as Republicans would then be forced to back away from Trump-level politics and support.
It should also be noted that there are already others pursuing legal actions against Trump by state level and non-federal entities like New York state Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., — cases that could still come to fruition, especially if Trump is forced to depart from the White House after one term.
We’ll have to hope and pray that Biden doesn’t flip a switch and press for any sham investigations into the president should he take office, as it would take the United States into very dangerous territory, as Trump still has tens of millions of die-hard supporters who will likely frown upon such actions.
