In the post-2020 election turmoil, many supporters of President Donald Trump have repeatedly asked what Republican lawmakers were willing to do to investigate numerous reports of “irregularities” and alleged fraud that took place in the election.
This week, they received their answer, as GOP Reps. Jim Jordan and James Comer have formally called on Democratic House leadership like Rep. Jerry Nadler and Rep. Carolyn Maloney to immediately launch hearings in order to explore exactly what happened in the 2020 election.
According to Just The News, the two reps were adamant about getting to the bottom of so many reports of potential fraud or other incidents that have raised questions as to the validity of the vote in several key battleground states.
“We urge you to immediately convene hearings to examine the integrity of the 2020 election amid troubling reports of irregularities and improprieties,” the two GOP lawmakers wrote in the letter.
Doubling down and reminding Democrats that they’ve spent four years attempting to undermine the results of the 2016 election, Jordan and Comer held nothing back in their scathing letter to Democratic leadership.
“Given your role as leaders of a political party that spent four years baselessly calling into question the legitimacy of the 2016 election with debunked allegations of Russian collusion, you owe it to all Americans to fully examine allegations of actual election errors and misconduct,” they wrote.

Jordan serves as the House Judiciary Committee ranking member and Comer serves as a ranking member on the House Oversight Committee, giving them a platform to call for the hearings, though it remains to be seen whether or not their calls are heeded.
According to Fox News, the two GOP lawmakers pointed to a report they issued as early as September in which they warned that last-minute changes to voting and ballot rules would likely increase the likelihood of election-related fraud, election errors and said that it would “undermine the integrity of the electoral process.”
As we all well know, Democrats didn’t take the report even remotely seriously at the time and the two GOP lawmakers reminded them of that.
“Democrats ignored this report, but many of our predications have unfortunately come true,” they wrote.
Calls for the hearings, though yet unanswered by Democrat leaders, come as Trump’s legal teams continue to work to expose voter and ballot fraud and irregularities in a number of battleground states, with Trump continuing to claim that when the legal dust settles, he’ll easily be declared the winner of many of the states.
Only time will tell, but even if Trump’s lawyers can’t manage to overturn the election, at the very least, the 2020 election outcome has proven itself worthy of investigation in order to instill confidence in American voters that there is still some integrity in the American election system.
