It was reported earlier in the week that Wisconsin would charge President Donald Trump an astonishing $7.9 million to perform a recount, since he met the threshold to order a recount but it wasn’t a low enough margin where the state would automatically cover the tab.
At the time, there was no word on how Trump would proceed.
However, on Wednesday morning according to the Daily Wire, Fox News White House correspondent John Roberts received word that Trump’s campaign team greenlit the recounting process, but said that it would only target a specific number of counties, which as of this writing, haven’t been revealed.
“UPDATE TO BREAKING: The @realDonaldTrump WI recount request will NOT be statewide – it will be a PARTIAL recount in several key counties. No word on WHICH counties yet,” Roberts tweeted.
Wisconsin, which is part of the coveted “Rust Belt” in a presidential election, was secured by Trump in 2016, much to the surprise of Democrats who were certain that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would win. Between his win in Wisconsin and Michigan, Trump easily secured the 2016 election.
In 2020, that obviously changed, as the mainstream media called the state of Wisconsin for former Vice President Joe Biden, who secured a narrow 20,000 vote lead over Trump.
The call for a partial recount in Wisconsin comes on the heels of a number of new votes for Trump that were magically discovered during the official state recount in the state of Georgia, where several issues with memory cards containing valid vote totals were mysteriously not uploaded into the state’s final count.
Trump weighed in on the matter in a recent tweet, pointing out the newly discovered votes while adding that the real problem stems from irregularties in matching signatures.
“The Georgia recount is a joke and is being done UNDER PROTEST. Even though thousands of fraudulent votes have been found, the real number is in matching signatures. Governor must open up the unconstitutional Consent Decree and call in the Legislature!” Trump tweeted on Wednesday.
While it’s unclear whether similar findings will emerge with a Wisconsin recount, if there are widespread irregularities that turn up in the specific counties that Trump’s team is targeting, it could definitely make things interesting, given Biden’s overall slim lead in the state.
Flipping Wisconsin and Georgia still wouldn’t be enough to overturn the election results, but it would go a long way in exposing some of the shady, highly questionable situations that took place in the 2020 election.
No matter the final outcome of the 2020 election, it’s important to expose any hint of fraud, because if that’s not done, then Americans will quickly lose confidence in the American election system, which is supposed to be the very best in the world.
It’s also important to keep up the pursuit of potential fraud in a court of law to send a clear message that Republicans won’t stand for this in future elections.
