If the worst-case scenario unfolds where President Donald Trump is forced to turn over the keys to the White House to former Vice President Joe Biden, the next best thing we can hope for is that another member of the Trump family will jump into politics, as the family has many good candidates at this point.
Luckily for Trump supporters, that dream could soon become a reality as according to the Washington Examiner, Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, is reportedly considering a run for a U.S. Senate seat in her home state of North Carolina for the 2022 midterm elections. Of course, Lara Trump is the wife of Eric Trump.
She would certainly make an excellent Senate candidate for a number of reasons — and having her father-in-law as one of the most popular people in the Republican party since the days of Abraham Lincoln can’t hurt, either.
“She’s very charismatic, she understands retail politics well, and has a natural instinct for politics,” said colleague Mercedes Schlapp in a New York Times interview.
“In North Carolina, in particular, she’s a household name, and people know her. She worked really hard on the campaign and was very involved in a lot of decisions throughout,” Schlapp added.
While Donald Trump Jr. has been the primary member of the Trump dynasty thought to enter the political field in the near future, Lara Trump has gained priceless experience over the past four years advising her father-in-law and easily being the most high-profile Trump surrogate to grace the cable television news airwaves.
North Carolina could be ripe for the picking in 2022, as there will not be an incumbent GOP challenger, meaning a number of Republicans might throw their hats in the ring for a chance to win the coveted seat.
Given how much support President Trump has in the Tar Heel State, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Lara Trump enter a Senatorial race at the very top of the primary ticket.
Greg Kelly, a Newsmax anchor, agreed on Twitter that Lara Trump would make an excellent Senate candidate, given her background and experience.
“Makes a hell of a lot of sense. @LaraLeaTrump has great gifts as a communicator and now has the political chops as well. Would be a tremendous candidate and member of the Senate. Go for it !! She joined me TONIGHT ON
@newsmax. Thank you for your attention,” Kelly tweeted.

Many commenters on Kelly’s post wholeheartedly agreed that Lara would be nothing less than an amazing representation for Trump-loving conservatives in the U.S. Senate, with many others encouraging her to go for it.
